Is this real whale language?
Gloriously, no. WhaleSay is whimsical entertainment: a playful, dialect-flavoured remix of your words, not a scientific translation. Enjoy it, don't cite it.
Do I need an account?
No sign-up, no password. You start translating immediately. We identify your install by an anonymous identifier only, never an email or a name.
How does the microphone work?
Tap the mic and speak. Your audio is transcribed into text and then translated. We only ever capture audio while you are actively recording a voice translation.
Which whales are free?
Humpback and Blue are free forever. Orca, Beluga, Sperm, and Narwhal are premium voices, each with its own dialect of tokens.
How do I unlock the premium whales?
Either a one-time in-app purchase for a single whale, or a subscription that unlocks every whale at once, plus our higher-fidelity audio engine. Pricing lives in the App Store and Google Play, not here.
Where can I use it?
Android, and iOS.
What happens to my translations?
Generated whale audio is short-lived by design and is removed from storage after 30 days. You can ask us to delete the data tied to your usage at any time from the Data & deletion page.
